So the plan today was a leisurely walk through Princess Island Park, a drink at a spot we're hopeful to do the wedding at, then home for a rest.
The Park was full of duck pictures and laughter. And some Latino sounds as they set up for a festival later today.
The 'drink spot' turned out to be closed. So then, we went to the place I really had my heart set on and sure enough, they were open. And we even got to talk to a manager. For whatever reason, they didn't seem excited about having minors on the premises - even tho they have the license for it. However, my fiance assured me and we were hopeful. We planned, dreamed, took pictures and had a lovely time.
We got home and my love decided to take a nap post-lunch. So I've popped onto my computer to catch up on the latest. There was an email waiting for me. Two lines. They began with 'unfortunately...'. So that's that? The place I've ALWAYS said I would have my reception just closed the doors and didn't even negotiate with me?!
KA-POW
Kiss that dream good-bye.

life these days
Well I have been unbelievably delinquent in writing for the last few months and I deeply apologize.
Things have been madness.
The last you heard, I had gotten a job.
Since then, I've also been to Alaska on a cruise, been proposed to, said YES, and turned 30!! ;)
That's right, I'm getting married to a man that has taken me by surprise.
He brings joy and growth to my life in spades and I'm forever grateful. He treats me like a princess.. a princess who is confident and capable of doing things for herself as well as receiving from others. ;)
In any case, I'm adamant about blogging more and putting my heart to words - if for no one than for myself.
So look for more blogs if you dare.
blessings,
k
